Lake Norman Economic Development is responsible for the development and implementation of the economic development strategy for the towns of Cornelius, Davidson and Huntersville, and the Lake Norman region. These strategies will result in improving the quality of life for the regionís residents through the expansion of the tax base by attracting new capital investment and creating new, highly skilled jobs for the regions residents.

Yokohama Tire Corporation plans to establish tire R&D facility in Cornelius

Yokohama, a subsidiary of Tokyo-based The Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd., has announced their plans to locate an R&D facility in Cornelius, North Carolina. Yokohama will bring 56 jobs to the area.


More land gets snapped up at Huntersville park as new owner plans development

Several properties and pieces of land have been on the market at The Park-Huntersville, with three sales transacting over the past year.

The third one, an 18.3-acre property at 12000 Patterson Road, closed in late December for nearly $1.5 million, according to Mecklenburg County real estate records. Scannell Properties, a real estate development and investment company out of Indianapolis, acquired the property and is planning to develop an industrial building on the site.


Huntersville seeks proposals for downtown development

HUNTERSVILLE – By the middle of next month, the town hopes to have proposals in hand for yet another phase of the evolution of downtown into a retail and residential destination.
