How Oerlikon is transforming industrial production

This summer, Oerlikon AM opened a purpose-built additive manufacturing hub in Huntersville after operating in a temporary location for a year. Additive manufacturing is another term for 3D printing. It’s a transformative approach to industrial production that uses CAD software to direct hardware to deposit material layer upon layer into precise geometric shapes. Oerlikon uses this process to create materials and products for the automotive, aviation and energy industries, among others.
