Carolina BioOncology, a cancer research clinic, is expanding its headquarters in Huntersville by 10,000 square feet. Located in The Park-Huntersville, Carolina BioOncology will invest $250,000 to upfit the acquired space for future cleanroom and lab space expansion.
“This project consists of a common anteroom, two separate pharmacies, equipment monitoring and building automation systems,” said Steve Bradley, Business and Facilities Manager. “We will also have a dedicated, state of the art HVAC system that will ensure strict air quality around the clock.”
The expansion was warranted by the consistent growth Carolina BioOncology has seen in the last three years as well as the new United States Pharmacopeial (USP) convention standards. The institute started with 20 associates in 2017 and has over 40 today with an average salary of $60,000.
The Carolina BioOncology project will begin in early April and is expected to be completed by the end of the 2nd quarter.
