The educators’ tour, the second this year coordinated by the LNED as part of a partnership involving local officials, schools and industry representatives, was held Sept. 23. The primary objective of the program, according to LNED Community Relations Manager Hailey Frazier, is to provide educators with insight into modern manufacturing and the potential careers available in industrial fields.
The tour included visits to four high-tech operations in Huntersville. Educators participating in the event included representatives from Hough, Hopewell and North Mecklenburg high schools and Bailey, Bradley and J.M Alexander middle schools.
“This tour proved beneficial, once again, as an opportunity for educators to get in front of manufacturers, see the facility in which they operate and have a chance to hear about the needs of the companies … as in the types of jobs and types of skills they are looking for,” Frazier said.
