Lake Norman Economic Development Launches A Custom Mobile App

Lake Norman Economic Development (LNED) partnered with Seabird Apps, to launch an application for LNED’s  board, investors, community members and students.

“Our goal with this app is to streamline communication with our board, investors and community as a whole,” says Haley Knicely, LNED’s Community Relations Manager. “We are able to customize the app for the different audiences. For example, an investor of LNED will see different screens then a community member.”

LNED worked with Seabird Apps, a new startup in the Charlotte area. Seabird Apps’ product, Onespot, lets any organization get their own custom branded mobile app that’s powerful, user-friendly and affordable. Their custom mobile apps help to streamline communication, drive engagement, and connect all the platforms and information specific to those organizations.

“Our mobile app is great for schools, businesses, nonprofits, golf courses, restaurants, or any other community you can think of,” says Samuel Buchanan, Co-founder and CRO at Seabird Apps. “With just a few taps, you can send out push notifications straight to the phones of users, which helps to eliminate crowded inboxes or landing in someone’s junk mail. Onespot is a no-code mobile app that is so easy anyone can use it without technical or engineering experience.”

The Lake Norman Economic Development app can now be found in the Apple or Android app store for free. Once downloaded, the user will be prompted to select the appropriate account type and create a profile. To ensure timely communication, users are encouraged to turn on push notifications.

“Having this app is helpful for our board members and investors, but getting a chance to bring economic development information and education to the fingertips of our community, is extraordinary.” says Knicely.
